Over subsequent decades, following several corporate restructurings and ownership changes within Oerlikon's welding business, production of the MP5-21/13 torches has been discontinued by its final owner. Consumables and spare parts remain available only while existing inventories last, making long-term support increasingly challenging. The direct replacement for the MP5-21 is the HP-50 torch or the PMB-50. Process Welding Systems HP-50 2004 - Present The Process Welding Systems HP-50 Microplasma welding torch is designed, manufactured, assembled, and live-arc tested in Tennessee, USA, ensuring consistent quality and performance before shipment. The HP-50 is capable of welding from 0.1 amp to 50 amps, making it suitable for the finest precision Microplasma applications as well as higher-current production welding. It is available with either a 1.0 mm or 1.6 mm electrode (specified at the time of order) to optimize performance for your application. The HP-50 can be configured with connections for most popular plasma welding power supplies, allowing straightforward integration into existing welding systems. Replacement parts and consumables for the HP-50 are stocked and readily available. Factory service and technical support are provided directly from our Tennessee facility, ensuring long-term product support and minimal downtime. • GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE HP-50 TORCH The HP-50 micro-plasma welding torch comes with a 12 ft. hose assembly as standard equipment. The torch should be used with a closed-loop cooling system by which the gas cup, plasma nozzle and electrode are cooled indirectly from heat caused by the arc. Water and gas hoses and the control cable are carried in a protective cover. The wide range of accessories that are available allow you to optimally adapt the torch to all your welding needs as they arise. The torch is not immediately ready for welding when delivered; it must be supplemented with the appropriate accessories.
